Indian Head Massage

   Indian Head Massage  (Indian Champissage)

Indian Head Massage has its roots set nearly 4000 year’s ago and continues to be practised as one of the methods used in Ayurvedic healing today.  It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body and spirit. Head massage therapy also has its importance in Indian society, as it has been kept as a family tradition in Asia for many centuries. This ancient form of soft tissue massage is used to address symptoms and conditions of ill health, now also practised by skilled Practitioners at Inclusive Healing.

This popular treatment targets various acupuncture points using massaging techniques incorporating mid-upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. Traditionally, the treatment is performed with the client fully-clothed whilst seated in a chair, however, to enjoy the benefits of the massage with aromatic oils, requires removal of the upper garments. Should this be the case an appropriately sized towel is provided to protect the client’s modesty.

Your Indian Head Massage will normally take between thirty to sixty minutes to complete and can be complemented  with the applicaion of aromatic oils, or not, as you prefer.  Amongst other healing properties, this type of  Massage can help hair growth, strengthen muscles and firm skin tissue,  it can also encourage the creativity in you to flow more easily - a great way to open up your true potential!

Below is a comprehensive list of benefits believed to be associated with this massaging process:

  • Promotes relaxation
  • Calms the spirit
  • Relieves sinusitis
  • Relieves insomnia
  • Improves circulation
  • Enhances the senses
  • Reduction of back pain

During your Indian Head Massage session you are likely to feel wonderfully relaxed, calm and maybe a little sleepy. These are normal reactions which, afterwards, may lead to you experiencing a feeling of rejuvenation (amongst other possible benefits as listed above). To encourage premium benefits from your session/s, and to promote the release of body toxins, we provide bottled spring water to drink before and after your massage.  For your added comfort and until you can wash out the  massage oils from your hair, you may decide to purchase one of our fashionable hair turbans, which can then be utilised as a part of your hair care regime.

Following your session, with your permission, our practitioner will encourage you to discuss and catalogue your experience, this will allow future comparison between sessions.  All data collected allows a secure, private and concise program of treatments. Advice concerning the frequency of sessions will be given upon request.  On the other hand, you might just decide to have an occasional feel-good session to take away some of those stress-filled moments that life tends to deliver from time to time. Either way, we are confident you will love your experience with Inclusive Healing.
